Hundreds of vibrant volunteers with a passion for children’s education, dogs and other pets are being called to take part in the SPOT (Safe Pets Out There) Program all over NSW.
SPOT will reach 250,000 NSW junior primary children by 2010, with aims to reduce the incidence of dog bites in children as well as to help children to recognise the importance of pets to our well-being and encourage respect for all animals.
All you need is a free morning each week to visit a local school, a willingness to learn and a genuine interest in helping educate children about safety around dogs, pet care and animal welfare.
SPOT Regional and State Coordinators and educational and veterinary consultants are ready to assist you by timetabling local schools and offering extensive local training.
Teachers who are not working full-time, local council rangers and veterinary staff will be most welcome to join the team. In fact we would like to talk to anyone and everyone who is interested!
To find out when training will next be offered in your area, please contact the relevant Regional Coordinator.
